Closet London pencil skirt, Mgemi pink suede shoes, business chic

Modern Blue Pencil Skirt with Closet London

When I was younger, I remembered thinking that a pencil skirt was the epitome of business chic.  Many pencil skirt purchases later, I’m still in love with the silhouette, mainly because it really does flatter and elongate the body and is so easy to style.  I usually toss on a crisp collared shirt with a pencil skirt for an office appropriate look or pair with a lacy tank for a date night ensemble.

When Closet London reached out to collab on this post, I was really excited, for a few reasons.  First, I love their aesthetic–it’s very modern yet classic with a touch of London cool.  Secondly, I love supporting brands that have found a way to manufacture in their home country.  Closet London items are produced in London (!) but remain reasonably priced. This particular skirt retails for €58 with €7.95 for international delivery.

This is probably my favorite pencil skirt that I own right now.  I love the length (at almost 5’8″ some skirts can be a tad short on me), the pattern, and the waist band/bow strap in the back.  I always say that a super easy way to make your look more casual but still office appropriate is to stick with traditional silhouettes and shapes but opt for interesting materials, textures, or prints to jazz things up a bit.

Just FYI though, the sizing for Closet London is MUCH different than US sizing.  I’m usually a 2 for bottoms, but sized up to an 8 in this skirt and it’s still pretty snug.  But who cares?  Size is just a number and I’m personally obsessed with how great this skirt fits and feels!
