Spring Green: Sheath Dress and Oatmeal Jacket

It’s 60 plus degrees here in NYC and it is officially starting to feel like spring!  I also love it when there are days when I leave work and it’s not pitch black outside…  In any case, it’s inspired me to incorporate more color into my outfits, like this green sheath dress I bought for a business school recruiting dinner.

Reiss oatmeal jacket, green Zara sheath dress, Precious and primitive scarf, nude Christian Louboutin Pigalle Follies

Dress: Zara (similar here) | Coat: Reiss | Scarf: c/o Precious and Primitive
Shoes: Christian Louboutin | Sunglasses: Dior

I love colored sheath dresses because I think they’re so versatile and easy to dress up or down and mostly appropriate for any professional setting.  A key here is to avoid buying any dresses that are too form fitting or low cut–this defeats the purpose of the garment being appropriate for work settings.

Recently, I also purchased this oatmeal colored Reiss jacket, which I have been wearing non-stop (when it’s not 60 degrees out anyhow).  In my opinion, oatmeal is the new black!  You can certainly wear it with black but it also looks great with more casual outfits like jeans and a white T.

Love this! Will look for that dress at zara <3 how do you survive walking around in heels the whole day!?! I find it so hard to do so.

Hi love! So good to hear from you. I definitely don’t walk around in heels all day–I usually take them to the office and have a pair of flats for commuting 🙂
