26 Mar Transitional Dressing: Short Red Coat and White Bag
It’s officially spring, but the weather has been officially bipolar here in NYC… Which makes it really hard to get dressed sometimes. So today, I thought I’d talk about two pieces that I think are great to have in that transitional season of spring (or fall).
First, I have to talk about my new Loeffler Randall Rider bag, which Mike bought me after I finished my last big project at work. It’s my first white bag and I love, love, love it not to mention I have already used it a TON. I think white is a great transition piece because it can easily go with your “winter white” looks and provide a nice contrast against darker clothing. At the same time, a white bag is so easy to style with spring/summer looks. It’s kind of like the black bag of warm weather seasons 😉
I specifically picked out this bag because it’s embossed and treated, which makes it a big more durable and less likely to get dirty versus other options I consider, namely the Celine Belt Bag in white. I loved the design as well but felt like the leather wouldn’t stand up against staining as well. And at a hefty price tag, I wasn’t ready to make the gamble and find out!
Secondly, having a solid short jacket is super necessary for this weather. Whether it’s a short trench, peacoat, or puffer jacket, you can’t really go wrong. I think a shorter jacket in a fun color is nice because it feels like a natural transition piece to more colorful spring fashion.
What else do you guys think are must have items?
